I think that the song gave him the nic name Hey Chris, cuz in the song, i thought they were saying Hey, Chris ...but when they started talking about him they called him Hey Chris so people would know what they were talking about. and the nic name stuck.
I could be completely off on this, this is just my guess.

you know whats funny, I was lying in bed one night contemplating the meaning of life and that subject header popped into my head! (ok not, really) but I was really lying in bed and all of a sudden I was thinking, "I wonder how Hey Chris came to be. And then I was like which came first, Hey Chris or the egg?" Then I sort of laughed to myself internally. Oh how my insipiration comes to me.

you should read "Nothing Feels Good: Punk Rock, Teenagers, and Emo" by Andy Greenwald (he's a writer for Spin). The book traces back the "emo roots" and tries to find the significance behind the "emo movement " and its cultural and social impact. There is a lot about Dashboard and there is a part in the book where Chris says that he repeatedly asks his band members to form a permanent lineup with him, because he doesn't like the solo gig. Even if you aren't a big Dashboard fan, it's a very good book and doesn't use "emo" in an insulting manner (i don't like labels and i know that it offends people).

today i'm really in the mood to rant, i don't know why but ever since i woke up i feel like i've been thinking and ranting about random things. but since it technically is Monday, i better stop the whole rant thing. yeah so now that i just wasted five more seconds of our pathetic lives, (pathetic because of endless time spent reading and writing on this message board instead of doing things in life that matter/count (school work)) whats the most insane thing you have done for fall out boy? you know, was there ever a time you went out of your way to see them.......see where the whole pathetic thing comes in. this is my sad attempt to get to read peoples' crazy stories.

Me and my friend.. we wanted to be front row for FOB sooo bad at the Cleveland show.. it was like our one goal.. so we sat in the freezing cold for like 3 1/2 hours so we could have our front row.
Lemme tell you, it was NOT fun sitting in that cold. Between my fingers, feet or legs.. I don't know which part of my body was the coldest. I felt like my fingers were gonna break off. But we were the 3rd and 4th people in line. Then they started letting the fans first people inside and we were convinced we weren't gonna get front row and we would of been so pissed.
but anywho, we DID end up getting front row and it was so fucking awesome.
And I NEVER have sat in line that long for a band.. Yellowcard is my absolute FAVE band and the longest I have waited in line at their shows was like 20 minutes at the most. So they [FOB] should feel honored.

i dont know how many of you remember i think it was an old thread...but on here someone was like, "does anyone know how to make FOB wallpaper" and then someone else goes,"i dont know how to make wall paper" and later they waid they thought they meant REAL wallpapaer?!?
